Rattle on start-up gone
Bought for a 2020 A6 C8. Torqued the tensioner to spec and rotated it twice by hand before starting. Everything in the box matched the parts diagram with nothing missing. Result is the engine is noticeably quieter at idle than it has been for a year.

Fine, but I expected longer life
Ordered this for my A6 C8 after the original gave up at 158k. A weekend job with the right locking kit and a service manual open next to me. It developed a light rattle again far sooner than a timing job should need redoing. That said, the engine is noticeably quieter at idle than it has been for a year. Good part, minor niggles.

Peace of mind on an interference engine
Went on my A6 C6 2.0 TDI at 110k miles. Locking tools on, marks aligned, and it timed up exactly where it should. The chain has proper hardened links rather than the soft pins on cheap copies. Result is the engine is noticeably quieter at idle than it has been for a year. Will be back for the other side.

Complete and correct
Went on my A3 8P 3.0 TFSI V6 at 42k miles. The chain has proper hardened links rather than the soft pins on cheap copies. I did the water pump and rollers at the same time since the front was already off. Result is the top-end rattle on cold start has completely gone. Will be back for the other side.

Correct kit, no surprises
Second one of these I have bought, this time for the A4 B7. Everything in the box matched the parts diagram with nothing missing. I did the water pump and rollers at the same time since the front was already off. Result is no more chain slap on start-up, which was what prompted the job. Exactly what I needed.
