Good damping, ride height is off
Second one of these I have bought, this time for the Q7 4M. Top mounts and bearings went on at the same time while it was apart. The car sat about 15mm lower on one side, which suggests a spring rate problem. That said, it tracks straight on the motorway instead of wandering. Good part, minor niggles.

Correct damping rate
Cross-referenced the OE number against my 2016 Q5 8R before ordering. The rod is properly finished with no machining marks and the seal is clean. I torqued everything at ride height rather than with the suspension hanging. Result is the car no longer floats over crests and settles in one movement. Delivery was quick too.

Crashing over potholes has stopped
Went on my Q3 8U 2.5 TFSI at 123k miles. Top mounts and bearings went on at the same time while it was apart. The weight matches the original almost exactly, which the cheap ones never do. Result is sharp expansion joints no longer send a bang through the cabin. Will be back for the other side.

Night and day difference
Replacement for my 2009 A6 C6 2.0 TDI. The garage did the pair and the alignment came back within spec straight away. The paint and plating look like they will survive a few winters of salt. Result is sharp expansion joints no longer send a bang through the cabin.

Sat lower on one side
Bought for a 2013 Q3 8U. The car sat about 15mm lower on one side, which suggests a spring rate problem. I fitted both sides together as you should, then had it aligned the same week. Disappointing for the price.
